How To Use Blackhead Remover For Clearer And Smoother Skin

For those of you who want to remove your blackheads but are unsure  how to use a blackhead remover (also know as blackhead extractor), let’s just say a blackhead extractor is one of the cheapest, easiest, and most common ways of removing blackheads from your skin.

There are a variety of blackheads extractors available on the market, which are all similar to each other in appearance. Though the main function of these products is to remove the blackheads, they come with little modifications, which are the reason for paying extra for some as opposed to others. Extractors can be found in a variety of places including cosmetic stores and online.

A blackhead extractor looks like this:

This blackhead extractor can be used to practically remove blackheads, and whiteheads, from any part of the skin. Depending upon the radii of the remover, you may pay extra since  the lesser the radius, the more effective and efficient it is to remove the blackheads and whiteheads.

How To Use Blackhead Remover or Extractor

Step 1

First, wash your skin with warm water to clean away all the dirt and grim. Next, place a warm, soft towel over your skin to open your pores; this will cause less pain while using a blackhead extractor from your skin, as it will make the skin smoother and open up your pores.

Step 2

Place the correct loop for the blackhead extractor over the blackhead (See the image below for choosing the correct loop). Make sure you use the proper side of the stick for the removal since using the opposite end for removal of the heads could be painful. When removing, do it softly, such that you do not end up hurting your skin. Once you hurt the skin, it may be tough to remove the blackheads and whiteheads for the next few days.

Step 3

Gently press the tool from side to side applying a little pressure; this will allow the blackhead to gradually pull out from the pore. If it doesn’t come easily, leave it alone and move on to the next one. Keep on moving to the next blackhead or the whitehead. If you keep on removing the heads, you may eventually find all the blackheads are removed. For reference see the image below.

Step 4

Once you finish removing the blackheads and/or whiteheads, wash the extractor with hot water and a disinfectant. After using the remover, you should keep it in a safe place free from dust or small insects. It is also important to wash it with hot water and disinfectant before using it to ensure it is clean. It will make the remover completely safe to use, when you want to use it.

Step 5

After removing all the blackheads, wash your skin with toner followed by a cold water rinse to close up your pores. If this method hurts, apply antiseptic for any internal cuts or issues. Nevertheless, if you find other issues, wash the skin with hot water and apply some a gel or similar product that will resolve the issue causing pain.

Make sure to always complete step 5 each time you remove the blackheads and whiteheads, lest it may cause infection.
