Eve Hansen Vitamin C Face Cleanser Review

September 5, 2016 by Christine Leave a Comment

Why I needed a product like this?

I was using a vitamin C face cleanser for about two months before I realized it was too harsh for my skin, especially because I was using it mostly at night. I would wake up with dry and irritated skin and it wasn’t helping any of my pigmentation and blackheads, it was making it worse. I also have dark spots from scaring and picking my skin as a teen, so I really needed a one in all type cleanser.

My past issue with cleansers that contain vitamin C has been with the size and packaging of the bottles. I truly enjoy products that are reasonable and made convenient to use so when I began my research I tried to find a product that would not only cure my skins frustrations but one that strong, not harsh, refreshing yet reasonable in price and was generous in the amount it came in.

Through research and forums, I heard about Eve Hansen’s brand and I decided to give the Vitamin C cleanser a try. I was not only surprised by the effectiveness but I was taken aback by the amount delivered. I do not need to budget more than two of these 8 oz. bottles a year!

About the brand

Even Hansen uses organic and non-toxic ingredients offering natural solutions in all of their beauty and personal care products ranging from sunscreen, to cleansers to moisturizers. The brand produces products and especially this Vitamin C cleanser in an effort to naturally achieve a bright, glowing, natural complexion without the harsh additives and clear pores. Saying goodbye to the radical damage and saying hello to natural beauty has been the highlight of my year so far!

Uses and effects of Vitamin C Face Cleanser

I use this at night time so it washes away make up and brightens my skin as I sleep. I begin with wiping off my eye makeup thoroughly because you do not want to rinse your eyes with the cleanser. Then I dispense one pump into the palm of my hand, about a dime sized amount, and rub my hands together to lather it up, and start washing my face in a circular motion. Focusing on each section (cheeks, chin, nose and forehead) for a few seconds, I make sure I hit every spot. Then I rinse the cleanser off and pat dry – try not to rub it dry.  It’s gentle enough to use every day and/or night. Infused with Vitamin C sun spots, discoloration, blackheads and wrinkles start to fade away and reduce in size.

Formulation/ Main Ingredients

The cleanser is a sugar based sulfate free wash that contains organic aloe vera and Melaleuca Altemifolia, which is basically Tea Tree Oil and is pH balanced.  It has a clear and thick consistency and lathers up nicely with a very slight hint of an orange/citrus scent. My mom said she couldn’t really smell it, but I would get a whiff of the citrus every once in a while. It has a very mild sting if you are not usual vitamin c user, but it doesn’t last long.

This cleanser doesn’t dry you out because it is pH balanced but following the wash, if you use a vitamin c serum, it will allow the products to penetrate beyond the surface. The potent Vitamin C provides pure antioxidant protection to help shield skin from those molecules that encourage premature aging (you know, those fine lines and wrinkles we try to avoid). Additionally, if you are a victim of prolonged sun exposure, this cleanser will leave you with an even complexion after a few washes.

Packaging

One of the factors in deciding if I am going to continue on with a product even if it works wonders is not only pricing but sizing. In this case, the cleanser came in an amber color plastic 8 oz. bottle, makes it convenient to leave on your bathroom counter-top. It has a pump that prevents spilling yet it is easy to dispense. It makes it super easy to use in the shower or sink; or alternatively if you can’t decide, have it in both places. Dispense a few pumps into a sample size container with a lid (you can find them at any drug store) and keep that in your shower.  The cleanser is an economical product, which means I’m really into it!

What I like about Vitamin C Face Cleanser

I love that this is sulfate free and doesn’t contain harsh additives. Products that are sulfate free are the big winners as far as producing results. It allows for the necessary oils to stay as layers for natural protection. A big bonus here is that Eve Hansen is animal and environment cautious as the bunny symbol on the bottle assures they do not test on animals, as most brand name products do!

What I didn’t like about Vitamin C Face Cleanser

To think of something I didn’t like is honestly challenging and I can’t think of a factor that I truly didn’t like. Although it did cause pimples to surface, but the upside to that is the product is working its magic and patience is a must! Also I am not sure you can purchase this anywhere other than online, so if you run out (which wouldn’t be a while from when you first receive it), but make sure you place another order so you can have it in time.

My Final Verdict

Removes makeup and whiteheads and if you have a clarisonic brush or other brushing system, use it if you want to feel what a remarkable difference feels like. I am looking forward to trying some of their other products in addition to the cleanser. I am trying to formulate a regimen using all Eve Hansen products. The cleanser has proved itself in that it gently washes away makeup and impurities while exfoliating and dissolving dull surface cells and blackheads. On top of all of that, it hydrates and nourishes your skin with its potent with Vitamin C.
